Bambu Guest House
"A home in the jungle of Panama"
Welcome
Bambu Guest House is a large comfortable lodge situated in Panama in the small fisherman's village Puerto Lindo. The house is built on the flank of a mountain right at the edge of the Portobelo National Park overseeing the Caribbean Ocean. Its name comes from the big bamboo bush growing in its wild tropical garden. A stay at Bambu Guest House is a true adventure of wild jungle as well as nautical beauty, sun, sand and sailing.
The Guest House consists of three big rooms with each its own bathroom and door straight into the big luscious garden where one will often encounter the local wildlife like monkeys, sloths and tropical birds.

picture on the left is taken at a spot near Isla Grande, only a 20 minute
boat-ride from the local port. All spots are either quiet or completely deserted.
For surfers this coastal area is a true discovery of an undiscovered surfing
paradise.

Historical Sites
In colonial times the coastal area was the site of storehouses for the gold and
silver of South America. It was here that Spanish galleons loaded on treasure for
the voyage back to Europe. The pirates of the Caribbean all had their eyes on the
treasures of Portobelo. A few of them got their hands on it as well! Definitely
worth visiting are the military fortresses that bear testimony to the importance
of this site in Colonial times. For scuba dive fanatics the area of Drake's
Island, Salmedena Reef, the Three Sisters, and Playa Blanca is not to be missed.
